Neal Bastek

Neal assists with our digital marketing strategy and initiatives. He helps ensure our digital presence is ship shape.

His love of travel and experiencing new places and people started at an early age growing up in a Coast Guard family and moving all over the US; he’s lived in ten states and visited 49. He came to the international education field via a happy convergence of his professional experiences in digital marketing, recently with Open Knowledge, an international advocacy group working to improve the use and usefulness of open government data. He’s traveled internationally extensively for work and fun.Neal’s also been a faculty member at the University of Oregon’s Applied Information Management graduate program for over 15 years. Neal’s not an artist himself, but enjoys a good show from time to time. His greatest artistic accomplishment to date is having a daughter who picked up guitar playing at an early age without the benefit of any genetic predisposition.
