Steelpan Panorama and Carnival Immersion in Antigua
Fill your warm tropical nights with the sound of steel pans, standing alongside the world’s most notable players and basking in the vibrant Caribbean culture.
Driving from the east to west coast takes less than an hour! The island is a safe and friendly place where locals go out of their way to be helpful to visiting tourists. Many tourists are drawn to the “all inclusive” resorts in the English Harbour region, but Performing Arts Abroad’s program is based in a smaller more off-the-beaten-path village near some of the most beautiful and secluded beaches in Antigua.
The arts thrive in Antigua, with the steelpan tradition being the strongest tradition and a point of pride for the residents. All of their public schools have steelpan ensembles, and an annual island-wide competition is held every summer in coordination with the festive Carnival celebration.

“I had a great time while studying abroad. I learned so much. I would honestly do it again if given the opportunity. I met a lot of amazing people and I hope that what I learned serves me well in the future.”
“Performing Arts Abroad (PAA) is a wonderful organization that allows you to gain valuable work experience, contribute to a new community, develop lasting relationships, travel and (in my case) learn a new language. PAA creates a comfortable experience abroad with their assistance and support.”
This is a great program and is administered well with a lot of support before, during and after your trip.
