A Message from our Director – January 2015 (Pt. 1)

Happy New Year, everyone!  As I look back on 2014, I am so proud of PAA and how far we have come.  There are a lot of people who have made that happen, but I want to take a moment to acknowledge a particularly important person, Ben Abbott, our Marketing and Programs Coordinator.

Ben is a professional actor, and a good one.  So good that he is almost always working on a show.  For those of you in the theatre industry, you know that this is a huge accomplishment with the limited amount of theatre companies and roles out there.

When Ben is not on stage, he is working hard to get PAA’s name out there in the universe, and to help potential participants decide which program fits best with their goals and interests.  In fact, many of you reading this right now have probably had the pleasure of letting Ben advise you.  He is friendly, honest, helpful, and a fabulous person to work with.

For almost two months last summer, Ben took his one-man show about homosexuality and the Mormon church on a tour of several states in the American West.  During this time, instead of taking a leave of absence from PAA, he visited nearly a dozen college campuses to talk with professors and department chairs about the amazing opportunities available to their students through PAA.  To read more about his experience on the tour, check out his post on the PAA blog.

Ben is a huge part of how much we accomplished in 2014 and I feel so lucky to call him a co-worker and a friend.  Keep up the good work, buddy!
